Junk or Artifacts

The news is all about some 200 artifacts being given to the Supreme Council of Antiquities by the Al-Ahly bank. The collection was left in the bank probably in the late nineteenth or early twentieth centuries and is credited as belonging to foreigners, of course and certainly not bank officials dumping their own.

It must also be said that if the tiny head of "Serapis" and little wooden arm are the best of the lot than it is probably a real pile of junk that once it's propaganda value is spent will likely never see the light of day again. I ask myself whether it is a contribution to science or an ever growing burden on the Egyptian state?
