Mummy's false toe may be the world's oldest known prosthetic device

A University of Manchester researcher believes two artificial big toes, one of which was found on the foot of an Egyptian mummy, may represent the earliest prosthetic devices.
The toes, which predate 600 B.C., would be several hundred years older than the Roman Capula Leg, previously considered the oldest prosthetic device.Update 16th February
