Natsef-Amun to take up residence in Leeds (UK) gallery

The Leeds Institute stands serenely overlooking Millennium Square, but behind the calm exterior lies a hive of activity.

Workmen and museum staff are busy getting it ready for the opening of the new Leeds City Museum.

The £20m museum will house the many collections built up by the city down the centuries, from meteorites to polar bears and everything in between. . . .

The World View gallery contains material from across Africa while the museum is one of the few in the country to feature artefacts from Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome.

The Ancient Worlds gallery will be the final resting place of the famous Leeds mummy Natsef-Amun who will take up residence in a recreation of an ancient Egyptian tomb, complete with spells from the Books of the Dead on the walls.
