Egypt State Information Service

Dr. Zahi Hawwas, Secretary-General of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities said on 5/12/2007 that there is no violation in the transferring process to King Tut mummy which was done last November, adding that the process was in compliance with the antiquities preservation law No. 117 for year 1983.

He said that the regulations of the Permanent Committee for the Egyptian Antiquities are stating that the excavation and reparation works which will be done by foreigners must be presented to the committee before starting any works.

Then he said that the transferring process was done by Egyptians thus there is no need to present it to the Permanent Committee for the Egyptian Antiquities.
