The Associated Press article discussing the Met's return of the naos fragment also says that during the recent negotiations over the return of items between the SCA and the Louvre a lecture by Christine Ziegler was cancelled and that she continues to be shunned because Hawass "claims [she] is responsible for acquiring the artifacts in the first place". A very serious allegation. Ziegler was honorary chief curator of the department of Egyptian antiquities at the Louvre Museum in Paris until 2007. It will be interesting to see how this develops.
