Tomb of Ramses IV
In the middle of the 12th century B.C. the Pharaoh Ramses IV set out his grand plans for his afterlife which included one of the largest mortuary temples in all of Egypt and a grand tomb in the Valley of Kings, KV4. Sadly for Ramses he died in what was his 6th year of his reign leaving his mortuary temple as only a dream, and his tomb was stopped unfinished and quickly decorated for the kings unexpected burial.
Flash pictures are not allowed in the royal tombs however the antiquities ministry has given permission to these images in the name of tourism. Ramses IV came to the throne after his father Ramses III was murdered in a conspiracy among the harem to put a lesser son on the throne.
