Tutankhamun-based exhibition launched in Alabama

The Gadsden Times

For about a year, the Gadsden Museum of Art has undergone cosmetic surgery - a little lift (a new elevator) and a little Tut.

The Gadsden Museum of Art will become an archaeologist's dream when "Expedition to the Discovery of King Tut's Tomb" opens to the public Tuesday.

Imagine an ancient realm of kings and queens - magnificent temples lavishly embellished with precious metals. Imagine this world has been buried by thousands of years of sand, only now to be unearthed.

King Tutankhamen's tomb was exhumed in 1922, but area students will have the chance to discover and learn about the ancient king of Egypt and the man who first unearthed his tomb in the museum's new, interactive exhibit.

The Gadsden Museum of Art (in Alabama, U.S.) has its own website, and details of the new exhibit should be updated shortly.
