Diving on Cleopatre's Palace

The French archaeological mission headed by Franck Goddio has excavated Alexandria's royal quarter beneath the harbour at Alexandria. The quarter is believed to contain Cleopatre VII's palace and mausoleum which after centuries of earthquakes has submerged beneath the surface of the murky water.

The site is an incredible archaeological find partly because the site has remained unlooted. This article is filled with many wonderful images of the site and its artifacts.
