Archaeologists working from the University of Pennsylvania mission to Abydos have discovered a new tomb of an unrecorded king from ancient Egypt's Second intermediate period. The extremely small tomb was made for King Seneb-Kay and clearly shows the decline in wealth for a king during the troubled period in which he ruled.
Canopic jars were discovered as were the remains of the king which had been torn apart by ancient robbers who also took away the kings tomb furniture.
