Tutankhamun exhibition launched

Egypt State Information Service

I am very glad that the exhibition is so successful and has raised so much publicity for Egyptian archaeology, posing questions about how exhibits ought to be displayed and what sort of experience people should expect from exhibition organizers, but it is taking far too long to work through all the keyword searches on Google Alerts! I shall be very glad if the fuss dies down a bit.

The exhibition, the first of its kind in the city for 35 years, was formally opened by Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, Tuesday 15/11/2007.

Artifacts from the tomb of King Tutankhamun are going on display for the first time in three decades, in the exhibition that is expected to draw crowds of more than two millions and bring to Egypt no less than $ 20 million in revenues.
