KMT Winter 2008/09

KMT Journal

As usual I've missed the fact tha KMT has been published. I wish that someone at KMT would let me know when the newest issue is released! Fortunately I was at Borders the other day (book shop) and happened to see it nestling snuggly on a shelf, so here's a summary of the contents.

  • Royal In-Laws, Yuya & Thuyu, except from Imperial Lives, Vol. 2 by Dennis Forbes
  • Alexander Henry Rhind’s Mid-19th Century Excavations at Sheikh Abd el Gurnaby Aidan Dodson
  • Fakes & Forgeries in the Egyptian Collection of Chicago’s Oriental Institute by Emily Teeter
  • Ancient Egyptian Art at Lisbon’s Calouste Gulbenkian Museum by Lucy Gordan-Rastelli
  • Photo Essay: Up the Unas Causeway by Dennis Forbes

Plus “Nile Currents” & “For the Record,” as well as reviews of: The Laughter of Dead Kings, a novel by Elizabeth Peters; The Encylcopedia of the Egyptian Pharaohs by Darrell D. Paker; Mummy Portraits from Roman Egypt by Paul Roberts; The British Museum Dictionary of Ancient Egypt by Ian Shaw & Paul Nicholson; From Egypt to Babylon: The International Age, 1550-500 BC by Paul Collins; Food Fit for Pharaohs: An Ancient Egyptian Cookbook by Michell Berriedale-Johnson; Daily Life in Ancient Egypt: Recreating Lahun by Kasia Szpakowska; Egyptian Scarabs by Richard H. Wilkinson; Unearthing Ancient Egypt by Miroslav Verner & Hana Benesovaska; The Eternal Light of Egypt by Sarite Sanders; To Live Forever: Egyptian Treasures from the Booklyn Museum by Edward Bleiberg; & The Royal Mummies: Immortality in Ancient Egypt by Francois Janot

I would be a subscriber, by the way, if they would introduce Paypal online purchasing, but the only way of ordering is to print off the order form, fill in your credit card details (or send a cheque), and post it to them using snail mail. As long as Borders stays afloat that will continue being my solution to the problem!
